Centenary Year Charity Partner: Care for Veterans

In our centenary year we are proud to announce that we will be working with another 100-year old organisation, the charity, Care for Veterans.

Care for Veterans (formerly The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home) was established in 1919 to care for those soldiers returning from World War I with life-changing disabilities. For 100 years, the charity has been providing long term nursing care, rehabilitation, respite and award-winning end of life care to disabled ex-Servicemen and women from the RAF, Army, Royal Navy and auxiliary services.

Draper Tools will be dedicating 2019 to supporting and raising funds for Care for Veterans in honour of both organisations’ centenary year. As official charity partners, Care for Veterans will receive a special donation from Draper Tools as well as benefiting from additional staff fundraising activities throughout the year including cake sales and casual Friday in the office.

The charity and some of the veterans they support will also be making a special appearance at the Draper Tools 100 years anniversary party in the summer. Veterans will enjoy the celebrations alongside Draper staff and their families, where there will be live music, games and further fundraising events taking place. We're also hoping for a visit from the Care for Veterans mascot, Gifford the Bear, too! The party is set to be a day to remember for all involved.

We're looking forward to working with Care for Veterans and jointly celebrating our centenary year with them.  To find out more about Care for Veterans and the work they do, or how you can support them, visit their website: www.careforveterans.org.uk
