Charity Partnership: Tools for Self Reliance

Draper Tools is proud to announce that Tools for Self Reliance has been chosen as its official charity partner. Having worked with the charity for many years already, Draper recently took the decision to formalise its long standing support of the organisation into an official partnership.

The charity, based in Netley Marsh, collects hand tools and sewing machines and refurbishes them for training projects in Africa, enabling people to learn a trade and earn a sustainable income.  As well as making a cash donation of £15,000, Draper Tools will be supporting Tools for Self Reliance throughout the year through donating tools, fundraising, and staff volunteering.

On hand to present the donation to Tools for Self Reliance was Raissa Verpalen, Community Manager at Draper Tools, who commented: “We are so proud to support Tools for Self Reliance and the incredible work they do. As a business, we’re passionate about both tools and empowering people to work with them for a better future. It’s been an honour to get to know staff and volunteers at the charity and be part of their efforts to relieve poverty and create sustainable changes in Africa.”

Sarah Ingleby, Chief Executive at Tools for Self Reliance accepted the gift on behalf of the charity, and said “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generous support of Draper Tools, and thrilled to be their charity partner. We are looking forward to working with them, and sharing how their support is making a difference to our training projects.”
