Draper Tools and Brit Assist team up for Pyrenees Classic Car Tour

Draper has teamed up with recovery and rescue specialists Brit Assist to support a tour of 15 classic cars through the Pyrenees mountain range. Setting off on the 4th September, the tour will see the convoy travel over 500 miles from Portsmouth, Hampshire through some of France and Spain’s most scenic mountain roads.

Classics embarking on the Pyrenees adventure with Draper and Brit Assist include a Jaguar XK150S, a Jaguar E Type, a Porsche 911 and a Mini Cooper. Draper Tools is supporting the endeavour with its company Ford Ranger and huge supply of automotive tools designed to keep every car running smoothly and save the day should any repairs be needed. Tools on board include everything from socket sets to impact wrenches, axle stands and trolley jacks, right through to welding equipment and Draper’s award-winning Hard Graft wipes. It’s the ultimate tool kit, ensuring the convoy of classic motors are prepared for every possible auto emergency, repair or maintenance job along the way.

Nigel Whatley, Power Tools Manager at Draper Tools and Chris Millward from the RAC, will be accompanying the tour, helping to ensure every vehicle is well maintained. Draper’s Nigel Whatley commented:

“Classic cars are a passion and a real area of expertise for us at Draper, we do a lot in this market, so we are thrilled to be able to support this special tour with our tools and equipment. We understand the extra maintenance that can be required when looking after a classic and have packed everything needed to keep these extraordinary cars moving. Together with Brit Assist, we like to think this offers everyone involved peace of mind and freedom to enjoy the journey.”

The tour will see the drivers taking in spectacular scenery and sights including the Valley of Bielsa, the Castle of Ainsa, the historic city of Vitoria, Gastiez and many more. The tour may even take on a serious adventure by tackling a small section of the Canon de Aniacio, a legendary narrow one-way road with the odd rock fall. Look out for photos and updates from the team as the tour gets underway.
